Dear Cast and Creative Team of the Wheel of Time,

This show means to me more than perhaps words can express.
I started out as a newbie, getting into the show first and then picking up the books. I am at book 4 so far, and have been consistently impressed with how the creative team of WOT have managed to adapt all the necessary plotlines (to my humble knowledge) for the screen. Changes have been made, such that I agree with, or sometimes such that I do not–which is completely alright and doesn’t cancel out my praise. By and large, I have been left astonished and surprised. It is nothing short of privilege to bear witness to this beautiful story.

Season 3 had started to come out just as shattering news about my health came into my life; I felt disoriented and devoid of direction. WOT, both book and the highly anticipated new season, has given me exactly that. Direction. Community. Something to look forward to all the way from December (when the breathtaking main poster was revealed) to April, and even beyond. I cannot begin to repay this good deed courtesy of Rafe Judkins and everybody else in production, from crew to maintenance to cleaning staff to–obviously–the cast.

As a lesbian living in a country that prohibits same sex relations, I am delighted to witness complex female characters onscreen who are unapologetically queer, and even more delighted about the unusually complex representation of the male-female dynamic (take Alanna & Maxim, Rand & Moiraine, Lan & Moiraine). The larger culture CRAVES this diversity and respect. This is exactly what the Wheel of Time has got to offer.

But not only this! Incredible lore, astounding cinematography and jaw-dropping soundtracks. And I haven’t even mentioned the costumes! All this comes in the same package. One show under the Light.

I will never forget Season 3 Episode 4, titled The Road to the Spear. THAT is what this show stands for, that’s what it looks like at its very height. One of the best TV episodes ever shot, not just across the fantasy genre–I mean OVERALL.

I pray we save the Wheel of Time. I pray we save the story that has saved me.
