I was never much of a reader, even in high school I hated reading. That changed when my husband turned me onto the amazing world of the WoT books back in 2005. He had started reading them when he was a teenager. He would talk about it all the time and even named video game characters after some of the characters from the books. I showed little interest, but tried to be supportive of his “obsession” with this tale. It took a little convincing, but eventually I picked up “The Eye of the World”. My husband told me to just read the first 5 chapters and if I didn’t want to continue then, by all means, I could put it down. Well I did soas he suggested and was hooked.

We would try to read the whole series over every time a new book was released. When RJ passed it was devastating. We are still so grateful to Harriet, Brandon Sanderson and all of Team Jordan for seeing the series completed for us all. Nowadays, since I work in a job where I can listen to headphones all day, I listen to the whole series of audiobooks once each year. You could say that I became more obsessed with Wot than my husband did.

When we first found out ages ago that there was going to be some kind of visual telling of this story, naturally we were ecstatic and could not wait to see it! When the day finally came it was almost everything I dreamed of for years. Yes, the story changes were a little difficult to swallow at first, but I swear when I first saw Moiraine wielding the One Power against the Trollocs in episode 1, I wept tears of pure joy and I still weep whenever I re-watch it. The seasons got better. Although I don’t love every single change they have made to our beloved story, I was still excited to see what the writers came up with in this different turning of the wheel and having the show cancelled after such a wonderful season 3 is such a blow to us all.

To Rafe and the entire cast and crew, I will say thank you. In the end, they did a beautiful job. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing what you could to the screen for the fans of this amazing series. We will never forget the labor of love that was put into this.

I’m not sure how much faith I have that our SaveWot efforts are going to bear fruit, but I will always hope and pray to the Creator that someone will have mercy on our souls and finish this show. In the end the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
