I first found out about The Wheel of Time when, one day, an article showed up on my newsfeed o randomly that they would make a TV show based on a fantasy novel series called The Wheel of Time. I was new to the fantasy genre as a whole, and was just coming out of the disappointment of watching Got season 8.

I decided to read the book series on a whim, really, and as I started this journey, I fell in love with the world and the characters. I had no idea what to expect, but what I found blew me away. I finished reading the books just before season 1 aired, and was thinking if the show would manage to surprise me and other book readers, since we know the whole story. The show ended up pleasantly surprising me, and that trajectory followed in seasons 2 & 3.

My favourite character from the books is Rand, and Josha Stradowski captured his essence so well. Season 3 brought us some of Rand’s most pivotal character moments to life, and for that, the whole creative team has my gratitude. From makeup & prosthetics, to costumes, to music, to the direction and acting, everything was top notch.

As season 3 drew to a close, I had hoped that the story would only get bigger, bolder, and better, because that’s how the books go. I was heartbroken when I heard the show wouldn’t continue. I was in disbelief because surely, a project that has such a hardworking and dedicated creative team behind it, who are respectful to the source material, and are mindful of both book readers & show-only watchers, are hard to come by these days.

But I hold out hope that someone else see this dedication and will let this whole cast and crew finish telling their stories. I want all the actors, directors, showrunners, producers, makeup artists, costume designers, stuntpeople to come back and give us the great storytelling and ending it deserves.
