I‘ll say it a hundred times
If there is a story that would heal, I‘d tell it a hundred times.
If a story is interrupted, it needs to be healed and told till the end.
I’ll say it a hundred times.
Dear TWoT Team, family, friends, crew, team,
I see myself heartbroken and I‘m writing to you, possible also, heartbroken ones.
Not really an ideal beginning for this letter, but I‘ll try to be better, more positive.
Grateful.
Grateful for three seasons, that I fell in love with, been worried, laughed and admired.
You took us deep into Robert Jordan’s work, and though I was a bit reluctant at first (good stories not always have the easiest approach) I fell into the story, The Wheel of time has woven me.
Thank you so much.
Sometimes one needs an escape, another plane of time.
And The Wheel of Time series became mine.
I followed Moiraine, felt protected by Land and saw her protégés from the river developing their peculiarities, their doubts and strength. And they did wonderful.
Rand became the dragon so slowly that I didn’t notice it at first. When he became what he was, he was already under my skin, in my heart. What a performance, what a talent, what a measure of depth.
With just a tiny bit of too much beauty, Mr.Stradowski 😉
Just kidding, the Dragon has to be the most beautiful. Also because he sees beauty in things where others see nothing.
The leader always takes the others, where they never been before.
Thank you for taken me to Rakov Škocjan, the forests of Slovenia, the magical Julian alps, wandering through Nord Velebit and Morocco.
I could feel the heat of South Africa and the mastery of the Atlantis Dunes.
Some places I‘ve been, but seeing it through the eyes of your story is different.
Thank you also for that journey in every sense.
Bringing a character to life who is so richly layered as Rand al‘ Thor is an extensive task.
You aren’t only awesome and of great talent, you became the Dragon, Josha.
And I followed you everywhere to experience, how your character changes like falling petals.
For the depth, the love of a shepherd, the prophecy and the man you must become.
I cried with you for Alsera, the cruel outcome for being reckless, while loosing a part of yourself. A part that died.
Here is the story, that needs to be told further:
We need, I need, Rand captured in the box, barking like a dog in a cave, then going for Kalindor, killing a forsaken.
I suspect, in your head, in your fine thoughts, you have already been there and everywhere.
Thank you for being the Dragon in every sense, in every way.
You are unique without exception.
Another heartfelt “thanks a million” to the utterly wonderful costume and makeup department. The Wheel of time would only be a skeleton without your craft.
So with you, the story was also told in pieces of clothing with woven stories of the past.
Some of the future.
Immensely beautiful dresses, that made me dream, incredibly detailed garments telling little secrets, faces that changed – some just a little, some underwent an unrecognizable transformation.
In all, your work is extraordinary!
Everyone who contributed would have deserved their own eulogy.
I love you with all my heart for bringing The Wheel of Time to life.
I hope this story continues, it needs to be told.
I‘ll say this a hundred times.
