Love Letter to the Wheel of Time: a Light That Should Not Go Out
Dear Cast, Crew, and Creative Spirits of The Wheel of Time,
I’m writing this with a heavy heart, tears close to the surface, and a soul overflowing with gratitude. This letter is for all of you—the actors, writers, set designers, costume creators, fight choreographers, camera teams, editors, musicians, and every unseen hand that brought this world to life.
The Wheel of Time is not just a show to me. It’s a sanctuary, a spark of Light, a place I ran to for strength, courage, and belief. Every character, every city, every turning of the Wheel mattered more than I can express in mere words.
To Rand, thank you for showing me that even the most reluctant soul can carry the weight of the world and still remain kind.
To Egwene, you are fire and steel. Your resilience has lit a fire in me that won’t go out.
To Nynaeve, you made me believe in the power of healing, in anger born of love, in protecting those we care about even when we’re afraid.
To Mat, your heart, your chaos, your loyalty—they’re everything. You reminded me that broken doesn’t mean unworthy.
To Perrin, your quiet strength and constant search for balance between rage and peace is deeply human and incredibly moving.
To Moiraine, you are mystery, sacrifice, wisdom. A guiding star.
To Lan, the unwavering, silent shield, thank you for showing us what duty, honor, and quiet love really mean.
To Alanna, Liandrin, and the many Aes Sedai—your power, complexity, and depth created a world where strong women lead with brilliance and consequence.
To Min, your visions and voice were a comfort. I held my breath every time you spoke your truth.
To Loial, gentle giant, you are the heart of wonder and hope. You made me believe in the power of kindness.
To Ishamael, and the Forsaken, you reminded me of the complexity of darkness—and that villains are often those in pain. Your presence made the Light shine brighter.
To Elayne, Aviendha, Faile, Siuan Sanche, Leane, Uno, Thom Merrilin, and every soul we met in this vast, living world—you matter. You made this story whole. You made me whole.
To the crew, you created something sacred. The landscapes, the music, the textures of the world—all of it transported us into something more than just fantasy. You made it real. You made it feel.
To every extra, every stunt performer, every makeup artist, every assistant, and every unsung hero behind the scenes—I see you. We all do. Thank you.
You don’t just tell stories. You awaken them inside us.
Please know that your work changed lives—mine included. I carry this show in my heart like a sacred flame, and no matter what decisions are made by studios or networks, The Wheel of Time will never be cancelled in the hearts of those who saw the Light in it.
May the Creator shelter you. May the Wheel weave for you as you have woven for us.
With eternal love and Light,
Somnath
