For me, the Wheel of Time is high fantasy at its finest. The intricate and detailed world building, thematic depth, plot twists and the emotional connection you build to these vivid and complex characters is what makes these books so compelling and ‘compulsive’ (the forsaken would be proud).

The depth of story spans 15 books and it was worth the time and years spent reading it. The more I read the more I wanted more and was surprised to find that they had not yet been completed at the time of my reading. I had to wait 3 years more years for the remaining books to be written and published which was a hard wait but not as hard as hearing that Robert Jordan was ill and may not get to finish his masterpiece. I was devastated for him, for all the fans who love the books and desperately wanted the story to be complete. Hope came in the light of his notes, his wife and Brandon Sanderson who made his words and his endings of 100 different weaves of plot come back to life and give us all an ending. It was a masterpiece and always will be.

When the show aired I was excited and a little scared. While the screen story veered away from the books, I was at times disappointed but unlike some of the hardcore book fans I could adapt and appreciate the show in its own right. I still loved it and it deserves every bit of love. The live action filming, the casting, stunning visual effects, fight scenes, music, costumes, humour and settings brought to life a story I’ve always loved and been invested in, so to see something, anything built in this world was an absolute joy. Im thankful to everyone who made this fantasy come to life.

I was heartbroken when it got cancelled by @primevideo. This world of Wheel of Time isn’t for the weak.

I write this now to say @sonypictures #savewot because this story HAS to be finished for the writers, cast, production, the new converts and for us fans in all our forms. At the very least don’t let me keep re-watching the same 3 seasons!

Every story needs to be finished.

Let it become more than just a ‘memory of light’.
