…because I was about to board and fly home but it was the dot of 8 p.m. on Thursday, and I was trying to download the latest episode of Wheel of Time on my iPad so I could watch it on the plane. but I needed boarding to be delayed, because the wireless would be too weak to get the show once I was on board.

so there I was, whispering “please be late, please be late” while lined up to board, and the person said, “why are you asking for the flight to be late?” and I looked up at a woman about my age (I’m 55) and I said, “new wheel of Time just dropped and I haven’t finished downloading.”

Her reply? “Where are you sitting?”

you did that! all of you, with your brilliant work on this show. She hadn’t read the books, but she loved it like I did. Like I do! Because we’re going to get the rest of it.
