Tai’shar Wheel of Time Cast and Crew,

I have long been a devoted fan of The Wheel of Time books. They are my favorite series, and I’ve encouraged countless others to read them. I first discovered them in 2005 and have returned to their pages many times since, always finding something new to love. Like many fans, I dreamed of one day seeing the story brought to life on screen, hoping it could offer a new way to experience the world I cherished. So when I heard about the show in development, my excitement was immediate, and it only grew when I learned that the showrunner, Rafe Judkins, was a longtime fan of the books himself. My brother and I eagerly followed every bit of news we could find, and with each announcement, our hope and anticipation grew. Rafe’s love for the source material was clear and contagious, and it became obvious that he had inspired that same passion in the entire cast and crew.

When Season 1 premiered, we watched it with excitement. Like any adaptation, there were creative choices I didn’t initially agree with, but no adaptation can please every fan completely. What mattered most was that this was The Wheel of Time. The casting was brilliant. The Two Rivers and the Winespring Inn looked exactly as I imagined. I was hooked. There were moments I found frustrating, times when the show diverged from the books in ways that challenged my expectations. But those moments sparked something unexpected: conversation. My younger brother, wiser than I am, would talk me through the changes, helping me understand the reasoning behind them and see the adaptation in a new light. It brought us closer, and that’s something I’ll always treasure, the experience of discovering this new version of the Wheel together.

As each season progressed, the show found its rhythm. The actors grew into their roles, delivering performances that deepened my emotional connection to these beloved characters. In many cases, the show and the actors made these characters feel even more real to me, adding nuance and dimension to their stories in ways the books only hinted at. Their portrayals brought fresh emotional layers and gave new weight to the characters’ struggles, relationships, and growth.

I was thrilled to be introduced to so many incredible new talents. I love them all, but a special shout-out to Priyanka Bose, who stole my heart. The costumes were stunning and richly textured, making the world feel vast, diverse, and real. Thank you, Sharon Gilham, Davina Lamont, and your amazing teams. The sets and VFX were breathtaking, vividly distinguishing the different regions and cultures. My thanks to David Moxness, Ondřej Nekvasil, Andy Scrase, Brian Shows, Julia Markó, and all those who brought this world to life.

By Season 3, which to me is peak television, something had changed in me. I no longer felt frustration at the departures from the books. Instead, I felt excitement. This new turning of the wheel had given me a fresh way to experience the story I loved, a version that rekindled the feeling of reading the books for the first time. I found myself theorizing and speculating with my brother, not about changes that frustrated me, but about what changes I was hoping for! It breaks my heart to think we may not see this incredible journey continue. There is so much I would miss: watching these actors take on new challenges, discovering new costumes, and seeing beloved moments reimagined. But most of all, I want to see Rafe Judkins’ full vision realized. I want to know what this Turning of the Wheel has in store.

That is why I refuse to give up hope. I will fight to #SaveWOT.
