One of my friends of all time is a big fan of the WoT series. A BIG fan. So he was always asking us to read it because it was the greatest thing ever.

Some years ago, I think around 2017, I finally asked for his books and started to read it. I didn’t know I was getting into a trip that lasted for three years. But what a trip.

It got everything, highs and lows (around the middle I considered dropping it, I wasn’t feeling it that much, I had read much but I still had plenty to go. That would have been a very bad idea), but it got everything: great characters, changing and intertwined plots, clues to follow and lots of things to like. When lockdown came, I got with me all the books I had left to read and that’s when I finished it, it kept me company then.

When I finished it I had that feeling, that I hadn’t experienced before with media, of having lost something. There was no more. I had been into something for so long that now I had to search for something else. There was a void there.

Some time later I heard that there was an adaptation on the way. I was in from the first moment. I didn’t need it to be exactly like the source material (some of my friends didn’t like very much changes in other adaptations, and voiced some concerns with the first chapters of the series and the changes involved).
I actually liked them, saw where they might get to (and felt really rewarded when subsequent seasons gave us that), and I’ve been waiting for each season and chapter every week.

I liked the books, a lot. But I was liking the series even MORE. The news that we will get no more WoT Series got me sad. We had so much to see, it was getting better and better, go greater things. Now we might not get it.
I like every decision, I like that it’s a new but familiar thing. Even those things I might not have done the same (my dear Ogier…) I understand why they had to happen and I’m on board.

I can’t thank enough to all the amazing members of the cast, who did a great job in getting into the souls of the characters (great choices in casting!), the crew in costumes, makeup, lighting, diction, script, directing… Everything was perfect for me.
Your great work got in me the itch to read all those books again. To get back into my old projects. It was inspiring.
The Hills of Tanchico won’t leave my Spotify playlist. And I hope that the Wheel of Time Series won’t leave our lives so soon.

Thank you all for your hard work in giving us this work of art. The only thing I’ll ask if we come back, is that please give us more ruins from the world before like in the first episodes. Those shots were amazing.
