I had a stereotypical Wheel of Time experience. I picked up the first book because the cover looked cool way back in the early 90s. I got hooked and have spent the rest of my life loving the characters and the story and rereading it before the newest book came out. I was so sad and worried when I heard Robert Jordan passed away and could not have been more relieved when Brandon Sanderson was able to complete the series. That was such an amazing gift.

When the show came out I was concerned and skeptical but I am easily pleased. When I got Winternight and the coolest portrayal of channeling I never even imagined I was thrilled. When Loial was in the library and spoke to Rand the first time I balled my eyes out. Slowly any concerns I had were either changed to the positive or I just started to enjoy the ride. The casting was amazing, and all the characters I loved (and hated) came to life. I found the Dusty Wheel and people online that loved the Wheel of Time as much or even more than I did. It has just been a blast watching the show, theorizing, going nuts over the costumes and VFX (thanks Andy) and everything else.

Season 3 in particular was amazing and I was so emotional and excited to see Mat’s epic fight with Galad and Gawyn and dream walking with Egwene and Faile being a badass and stabbing trollocs and Perrin fighting for the Two Rivers. But, more important than anything else you brought the Eelfinn to life and that to me was the best way to end the season. I could not have been more pleased. I now have a snapshot of the Eelfinn on my phone to admire creepily every day. I loved it.

But, is the story resolved? Not even a little bit. I need to see Couladin killed and Dumais Wells and the time in the box and the Cleansing and even a little nod to the Circus and Valan Luca swish his stupid cape somewhere in the background. I need to see Tam and Rand see each other again. I need to see the Aelfinn. I hope and pray to the Creator that the Pattern makes another streaming service snap up this gem of a story before the cast and crew have no choice but to take on another job.

The story is incredible, it touches people, it is a commentary on the world (future and past) and is not at all just a fantasy show. It inspired Game of Thrones creation in fact and many many other writers and is beloved by so many people. So, thank you all for your hard work and I really really hope this will not end so unfinished. Maybe this story can be completed once again by someone stepping in and doing the Light’s Work.
