To the cast and crew of The Wheel of Time,

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart – thank you.

This show means everything to me. Years ago, when I had nothing – no job, no degree, no clear path, no one to lean on – it was the Wheel of Time books that kept me going. The world, the magic, the characters… they became my friends, my escape, my way to cope with the shadows of depression. Now, the show has taken up that mantle.

Your work – the acting, the costuming, the worldbuilding, the score – all of it, has brought this story to life in a way that exceeded every hope I had. You’ve replaced the versions of the characters I had in my head, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Every scene, every moment, has been a light in the dark for me. In the middle of MDD, it is one of the few things that still bring me joy.

The books were also one of the only ways I connected with my dad, and now I’ve promised my own son that we’d watch the show together when he’s old enough. It breaks my heart to think that might not happen.

I feel empty now, knowing the show is at risk. But I need you to know that what you created matters. Just like the ray of sunlight breaking through in Veins of Gold, your work has pierced the gloom.
