This year has been quite difficult for me and many artists. It’s gotten very challenging to access funding for projects and contracts are far and between.

In the midst of all this, watching the third season of the series The Wheel of Time has given me so much inspiration and joy. Witnessing the artistry of all involved, the progress of the actors as they grow in their characters, the intricacies of the costumes, the music, the rich symbolism seeped into every frame, the stunts… everything was clearly done with an abundance of passion and collaboration.

I kept thinking: I might not able to reach my artistic dreams at the moment… but at least, they are.

They were given a chance and gave us beauty.

Now, the news that Amazon decided to cancel it after this stellar season – with only a third of the story told – is completely gut wrenching, and left me almost comically heartbroken (having not worked on it myself).

I need to believe that somehow art can survive greed.

One thing remained clear, through this fog of disbelief and disappointment: I am not ready to lose hope. Not for me, for them, or for us as community of artists of all fields.
I am just too stubborn to give up.
