Time Spins On, but Some Threads Deserve to Be Woven Longer
To the cast and crew of The Wheel of Time —
I was 22 years old when I first picked up The Eye of the World. I didn’t know then that I was beginning a journey that would stretch across more than three decades of my life. Through lean years and long waits between releases, I faithfully devoured each new installment — sometimes on a library waiting list, sometimes sacrificing sleep because I couldn’t stop turning the pages. The Wheel wove itself into the fabric of my life.
As my kids grew, I shared the series with them. By the time the final book came out, all of us were reading it together — laughing, crying, arguing theories, and living in the world Jordan and Sanderson gave us. It helped spark their love of reading, and gave us a shared language of heroes, heartbreak, and hope.
The show gave us that again. It became another way to share this amazing story with those who haven’t read the books, and a way for us to connect again as a family. The cast is stellar — not just talented, but moving. And the diversity shown on screen was powerful. It was deeply meaningful to see a fantasy world that looked more like our own, where strength, magic, and complexity were not limited by skin color, gender, or tradition.
Please know that your work matters. You’ve breathed life into a beloved world, and helped it reach people in new and lasting ways. My deepest hope is that there are more turns of this Wheel still to come.
With gratitude,
Jeni Davidson
