Weep for Wheel of Time

By Published On: May 30, 2025

I haven’t been this engaged with a show since Game of Thrones and even then, Wheel of Time captured me more in three seasons than GoT did in all 8. The characters are so well embodied that they feel like friends. I find myself in tears every episode because of the heart and authenticity each of the actors bring to the story. I love swooning over the costume and set designs and my imagination runs wild picturing what it was like for the cast and crew to film each episode.
Someday when I do a re-read, I’ll see Josha, Rosamund, Zoë, Madeleine, Marcus, Dónal, Daniel, and all the rest in my mind.
I will grieve for a long time knowing that I won’t get to spend any new time in this world and with these actors again. Most of all, though, I will miss the discussions and debates amongst family and friends after each episode drops. I’ll miss running to YouTube to watch my favorite influencers do watch alongs and talk about book vs show differences and improvements.
Wheel of Time was more than a TV show. It was a connection to other people and a unifying device in a world that is thriving on division and crying out for some peace.
So weep for The Wheel of Time. Weep for what is lost forever.
