I love Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time. I love these books and this world so much and to see the way you’ve all brought them to life has been a source of tremendous joy.

I understand that adaptations are a challenging endeavor, that adapting a series of novels so beloved around the world to a visual medium is a unique challenge, and that audience expectations are different now than they were 10, 20, 30 years ago and so, while I don’t claim to love every change that was made to the adaptation of what is perhaps my favorite series, I can say I have wholeheartedly embraced this show.

If any one piece of this production is to blame for why I love it so much, it is decidedly the incredible performances of this principal cast. Your talent, your chemistry, and your dedication to doing the work of bringing these characters to life on screen is nothing short of exemplary. I know there were challenges, I know there were elements of the fandom that made those challenges even more difficult. I am so proud that you all worked so hard despite that to embody and realize the vision your show had and bring it to life in such stunning form.

This most recent season has been one of the best pieces of television I have ever seen seen. It felt like the show hit its stride and truly opened up into something that could be THE defining fantasy experience moving forward. The visuals, the sets, costumes, all of it felt uniquely Wheel of Time.

Perhaps most importantly the scenes where we have the Emond’s Fielders all together before they go their separate ways did more to show me these people truly love one another than any scene from an ensemble. I have to thank you all for that. So often we’re told characters are lifelong friends and then we watch them bicker and bash one another for ten episodes. This was such a refreshing series of scenes it would have single-handedly won me over if I was even remotely on the fence.

I hope some way, somehow, this incredible show gets to continue with this cast, this crew, and this heart at the center of it.
