Dear Weavers of the Pattern,

I write this letter with a heart full of gratitude, awe, and love. Thank you for breathing life into The Wheel of Time, for stepping into the light and the shadow of this vast and magnificent world, and for making us believe, again and again, that the Wheel truly does weave as the Wheel wills.

To the cast: Your performances have been nothing short of soul-stirring. You’ve carried the weight of iconic characters—Rand, Moiraine, Egwene, Lan, Nynaeve, Mat, Perrin, and so many more—and given them flesh, voice, vulnerability, and power. You didn’t just act; you channeled. You journeyed through the roads of the Two Rivers, the White Tower, the Blight, and Falme with such truth that it often felt like you weren’t showing us a fantasy, but something ancient and real rediscovered.

To the crew: From the rich textures of the costuming to the grandeur of the sets, from the swirling weaves of the One Power to the haunting notes of the score; you all have crafted something epic, intimate and unforgettable. You built more than a show; you built a world we return to with every episode, every heartbeat, every turning of the Wheel.

You took on the daunting task of adapting a sprawling, beloved series, and instead of being crushed by the weight of it, you elevated it. You honoured the source material while making bold, resonant choices that brought new life to old pages. You weathered skepticism, you embraced passion, and in the end, you gave us something that felt euphoric.

And now, with the recent unceremonious announcement that Prime has decided to end the series, many of us are left heartbroken. It’s unbearably painful to see the journey cut short, especially when there is so much of the story that still needs to be told—Rand’s transformation, Egwene’s rise, Mat’s fate, the White Tower’s fracture and healing, and the coming of Tarmon Gai’don. We have only just begun to see the Pattern fully revealed.

But… take heart.

Cancellations may silence a platform, but they cannot silence the love that lives in the hearts of fans across the world. We have seen what passionate communities can accomplish—reviving shows, moving networks, and opening new doors. The Wheel of Time has already achieved something extraordinary: it reached Number 1 in viewership in over 20 countries, including here in South Africa where I watched it with joy and pride. It captured our deepest imaginations and has changed many lives.

This story isn’t over.
Because The Wheel of Time is bigger than any one season or studio. It endures. It inspires. It matters. And if the Wheel wills, as it so often does, there will be more light yet to come. Until then, know that what you’ve created has made a permanent dwelling in the hearts of millions.
