You Lighted the Spark, You Fired the Flame
As a child, I was always dreaming about worlds other than our own, thinking of supernatural wonders that would let their peoples do things we could not imagine in our reality.
As such, I’ve always loved fantasy sagas. The way those stories about getting better through hard work, learning to love your newfound friends or fellow travellers, moved me was something else.
Now I’m in my early thirties and thought no fantasy saga could surprise me or excite me. “At this point they’re all kind of the same”, I thought. The Wheel of Time was not the same. The Wheel of Time is the most special story that I have seen recently, and it is thanks to the show that I realised that.
The depth of the characters, the visuals, the costuming (oh lord, the costuming!), and the perfect casting have lured me from the very beginning, introducing me to Robert Jordan’s complex, rich world.
Season 3 was like a breeze of fresh air when fantasy TV shows were a bit underwhelming, already feeling the curse of time. But oh, a turn of the wheel and we got this colorful, amazing, deep and emotional season that set the scene for so many other developments to come.
Now let them come. You lighted the spark, you fired the flame. We deserve to see you shining for many more seasons! #SaveWoT
