So it has taken me a while to be ready to write this, I have been sick with bronchitis and then COVID, and had big issues at work, and the word of the cancellation brought me low. So low! Many friends I have met in the fandom are working so hard to keep us in hope, to let the cast and crew of this incredible production know we have their backs and that we are not ready to say goodbye until we get our story told.

Until we see all our favourite moments make it to the screen like we did with Mat’s taking down the two princes, Rand going through the Glass Columns, Perrin & Faile fighting for the Two Rivers. We know with all our hearts that Rafe can bring us so many more epic moments that we will cry and scream through. He will not let us down. He knows how much each moment from the books brings to us, he gets it. And if he gets the right streamer’s support he will be given more time to bring us all those moments we long for, without having to cut so much out.

Let’s face it a lot has to go to fit it all in before the actors age out BUT it can be done – bring us 12-15 episodes a season for another three seasons at least!
I have been reading and re reading those 15 books since 1990. The characters were my found family that I always came back to for comfort when times were hard raising kids on little money. I didn’t know anyone else who read the books. I had no time for online forums etc back then. Whe I started working at the book store I have been working in for 18 years I got to know more fans, and introduce more and more people to my favourite books, I wept when James Rigney passed, and cheered when Brandon Sanderson completed the series. It wasn’t the same but we got to see it finished. And we need that for the show as well!

When I heard they were going to make a show I went looking for FB pages about it, found many, but found my new WoT home at the Wotseries group amongst global fans who loved the books like I did, and loved following every little glimmer of info we could find about the production. I was even more excited if possible when I saw the chosen cast was as diverse as the world of WoT and of our fandom. Especially the inclusion of Maddie whose Aunty is one of my best friends.

When COVID hit the world it had a huge impact on all of us, and having made global friends through Wotseries I was horrified by the losses so many of these people were suffering in their own countries. We were so very lucky here in Australia to be able to isolate ourselves so much easier. And watching the production endeavouring to keep filming rolling while doing their utmost to follow rules to keep each other safe was heartening. They did an amazing job under awful conditions and far away from their own families and loved ones.

And what an incredible job they have done. Please someone let them continue! We know how much Josha, Maddie and all of them love and appreciate these characters and the books, how much they want to bring all of their story to life. Thank you to every single person on this production both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes. What amazing talent you all have!

Thanks to all in the fandom who linked arms to enjoy this show inspired by the books we loved, despite the changes, and how little time the production was given to bring this epic story of The Wheel of Time to the world. Please please may we live to see it completed with our same crew!
