I read the books about 10 years ago at a really dark time in my life. I can honestly say it was one of the few bright spots that helped me get through that time.

I had hesitated to watch the show because “screen adaptations rarely do the books justice.” Ironically, I only started watching it after season 3 dropped. A slow start, and yes, I quibbled about story changes.

But, it FEELS like the books. No, the story isn’t identical. No, I don’t agree with all the creative choices. But the world is alive and vibrant. The Aes Sedai, the Seanchan, and the Aiel are all realized beautifully.

Josha Stradowski’s portrayal of Rand’s evolution from tentative country boy to The Dragon Reborn is nuanced and now perfect. Rosamund Pike’s Moiraine and Daniel Henney’s Lan couldn’t be more perfect.

The Wheel of Time is the first television show in a long time I have LOVED. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring it back.
