Loved the Books, Adored the Show. It Needs to Continue
I started reading the books in the mid-90s, as a teenager going through some life-changing health problems, and they gave me the escapism I so desperately needed. I never thought there would be a show made, I couldn’t see how it could be done, but I was like an excited teenager again to hear of the show being made.
I love most the choices and changes that were taken, and that, as much as I love the books, I like not knowing exactly what turn the show’s wheel will take. Everything about the show drew me into the world, just as the books did, and took me away from the current troubles and worries of the day.
The costumes, the cinematography, the VFX, the gorgeous soundtrack, and above all, the actors.
I never thought I’d be so invested in Liandrin’s story, or love Lanfear, rather than just roll my eyes at another villain. And Moghedien is so compelling and deliciously unhinged. Every actor has taken on their character’s mantle so well, and by the magnificent third season, were wearing their roles like a second skin.
This show has gotten better and better. I’ve laughed, gasped, and cried. This show and the wonderful cast and crew deserve to continue, and we, the viewers, need it to continue as well. If we enter a world where there are only ever three seasons of Wheel of Time, then we have entered a truly bad turning of the wheel. This show NEEDS to continue its journey.
Victoria Chase.
