The Wheel of Time Saved Me
As a cancer survivor, I’m cancer-free, but I was not free of pain, frustration, depression, or just plain old boredom until Wheel of Time was introduced to me. I did not know about the books, but because of my macular degeneration in my eyes, I can’t read like that anymore, and I’m not an Audible kind of gal.
WOT encompassed my soul, spirit, and attention the moment I watched it, you can say love at first viewing. I’ve watched it at least 20 times and sing the song out of pure joy. The characters have taken my anxiety away and console me when I’m a lil down. The Trollocs I can do without, but I’m obsessed with the decor in the Tower, the cut-out doors and room dividers, oh my.
The cast have taken my tears, fears and unbearable pain and “One Powered” it away.
Ms. Pike your power, strength and commitment to your craft has kept me strong and taught me to go for whatever goal appeals to me. Lan is so sexy and alluring. Rand is too young for me, but he is fine and I love his scenes of power and reflection because we see him grow into the Dragon Reborn. Mat is the bad boy that has a heart, but he is so adorable. As a viewer I was enthralled with the Wolf Brotherhood and wanted more, Perrin is a tall drink of water that was so sensitive and charming, I couldn’t get enough.
Each cast member has their own charm and they keep me going, although honestly, [Prime] took too long to release season 3, so of course, the viewership is low to start. They don’t get their viewers and don’t understand their relationship with WOT because their venture is about money and nothing more.
The viewers are invested in the story, characters, scenery and the hope for resolve. Bring it back and watch it soar.
