I just wanted to drop by and write a little love letter to the cast and crew of The Wheel of Time to thank them for bringing such a beautiful show to life. It may be out of all of our hands whether this show continues, but they can never take away the joy that was poured into its creation and the love that those of us who love it felt in watching it, rewatching it and talking about it. Whether it was in quiet evenings gasping over the latest episode, frantically messaging friends (and strangers) or finding ourselves absentmindedly thinking of plot lines or characters – it was all of these quiet moments of life that you touched. Thank you.

I would have loved to see your collective vision for the whole story come to fruition and to watch these characters grow and develop into who they were becoming. Without you, I wouldn’t have stepped foot into this world, and for that, I am deeply grateful. If nothing else, you passed the beauty you saw on to more people.

Your commitment to physical locations and built sets with extras, your beautiful set and costume designs, your nuanced performances and stunning musical score – all of these things breathed vibrant life into the show. The ensemble it took to put this on our screens, to carry the story from the Two Rivers and beyond, is not small, and this was no small feat. You worked hard.

I know not everyone will be happy with an adaptation; there have been times I haven’t been myself with other adaptations of other shows or films. Nothing is ever perfect. But the courage that it takes to put all of yourself into a story that you love and believe in is something that should be celebrated regardless of personal preference. The deep personal experiences and expressions you put into your work are not lost and you are very generous for sharing that with all of us.

For my part, I did enjoy your vision and your storytelling. I loved the characters and the things the world of The Wheel of Time made me think about. I felt deeply your commitment to diversity and celebrating many people of different cultures and backgrounds, gender identities and life experiences. Especially in fantasy television, this is not always the case and it was a real joy to behold. I loved the way you crafted certain storylines and brought them to life in such unforgettable ways – Rhuidean will stay with me for a very long time.

So thank you. You hoped but you never truly knew if this whole story would get told, and you poured everything you had into it regardless. You persisted out of love for the story and what it could become. Now we are here too, once again, persisting for the love of the story and the characters. Fighting for a chance for this story to continue. Whether or not any of us succeed, we did it for love.
